ECCAI set's up a club in USSM

The environment and Climate Change amelioration initiative a guy has set up a club in unique secondary school. this was done in an event held in the school premises on Friday 6th October 2023. The club named Climate Justice club kicked off with a total of 30 girls as the pioneer members of the club cutting across all six classes in the school. 

The executive director of ECCAI misses Victoria Esa argued  that with the unfair way the environment is treated it needs justice. The club's vision she said, aligns with that of ECCAI, which is to see a society where the environment is clean and to promote sustainable environment. Why the club membership included only girls she stated that ECCAI frowns at gender-based violence which affects mostly girls so the club is Fighting for Justice for the environment and the girl-child.

During the occasion there were talks on climate change including its causes, effects and ways of tackling it.

The club which is being set up in other states of Nigeria - Nasarawa and Niger is part of a larger campaign all over Africa championed by the African Activist for Climate Change. Rules for the club were set as well as the selection of officials to steer the affairs of the club. The officials included are Ajunga Grace as president, Nongo Nancy as secretary among others.

Also in attendance were all the members of ECCAI as well as staff of USSM.
